MAURITIUS

The Government of Mauritius hereby declares its intention:
(a)    To comply with the Declaration on the Protection of All Persons from ageing Subjected to Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (General Assembly resolution 3452 (XXX), annex);
(b)    To implement, through legislation and other effective reassures, the provisions of the said Declaration.
PHILIPPINES

On 16 October 1979, the Philippine Government made a unilateral declaration against torture and other cruel,  inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. The full  text of Proclamation No-  1914 signed by President Ferdinand E. Marcos, roads as   follows:
"The Government of the Republic of the Philippines hereby declares its  intention:
(a)    To comply with the Declaration on the Protection of All Persons from Seine Subjected to Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment /General Assembly resolution 3452 (XXX)/:
(b)   To implement, through legislation and other effective members, the provisions of the said Declaration.
In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed. Done in the City of Manila, this 16th day of October,  in the year of our Lord, nineteen hundred and seventy-nine.

1.      The Government of Portugal hereby declares its intention to comply with the Declaration on the Protection of All Persona from Being Subjected to Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (General Assembly resolution 3452 (XXX) annex).
2.      This undertaking entails no change of present Portuguese legislation since the principles which are reflected on the Declaration are already contained in the domestic law of Portugal.
