AUSTRALIA
The Government of Australia hereby declares its intention to continue as hitherto, in accordance with its constitutional processes which are those of a federation in which legislative, executive and judicial powers are distributed among the federal (commonwealth) authorities and the authorities of the constituent states, to comply with the Declaration on the protection of All Persons from Being Subjected to Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading treatment or Punishment (General Assembly resolution 3542 (XXX), annex).
