QUESTION OP THE HUMAN RIGHTS OP ALL PERSONS SUBJECTED TO ANY FORM OF DETENTION OR IMPRISONMENT
Algeria,* Argentina, Iraq, Panama Syrian Arab Republic and Yugoslavia: amendment to draft resolution E/CN.4/L.1460
1. Second preambular paragraph
Replace by the following text;
"Seriously concerned at reports from various parts of the world concerning the
circumstances and number of missing and disappeared persons,"
2. Operative paragraphs
Replace paragraphs 1 and 2 by the followings
"1. Invites Governments to inform the Secretary-General of the steps they are taking to comply with the recommendations included in the first paragraph of General Assembly resolution 33/173 of 20 December 1978;
2. Requests the Secretary-General to submit to the Commission at its thirty-sixth session a report summarizing the information he has received from Governments on the question of missing and disappeared persons;
3. Invites the Sub-Commission on Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities to study actions to be taken to deal with the problem of persons who have disappeared, taking into account the relevant experience of the International Committee of the Rod Cross and other humanitarian organizations."
