: DRAFT CONVENTION ON THE ELIMINATION OF ALL FORMS OF DISCRIMINATION AGAINST WOMEN

1. States Parties undertake to submit every four years to the Secretary-General reports on legislative, administrative and practical measures which they have adopted in implementing the provisions of the present Convention*
2. Every two years following this Convention's entry into force, the Commission
on the Status of Women shall consider the question of the status of the implementation
of the Convention by the States Parties, and submit the report to the Economic and
Social Council.
3. Every two years the Commission on the Status of Women shall appoint a group of
ten members of the Commission with due consideration to the principle of equitable
geographical distribution.
4. If, among the members of the Commission on the Status of "omen there are
less than ten such representatives, the Secretary-General of the United Nations
shall, after consulting the States Parties to the Convention, designate enough
representatives of the States Parties which are not members of the Commission
to participate in the work of the group established in accordance with paragraph 1
of this article, until such time as representatives of the States Parties to the
Convention are elected to the Commission on the Status of Women.
5. The group will meet for a period of not more than two weeks before the
opening of the regular session of the Commission on the Status of Women, to consider
the reports submitted in accordance with article and submit its report to the
Commission on the Statue of Women for its consideration.
