Addendum
The Secretary-General has received the following statement which is circulated in
accordance with paragraphs 29 and 30 of Economic and Social Council
resolution 1296 (XLIV).

1. Suggested addition to article 21 of the draft Convention on the Elimination of
Discrimination against Women:
"4. Non-governmental organizations concerned with the status of women shall have the right to submit to the Commission on the Status of Women information and recommendations relating to the observance of the provisions of the present Convention. The Commission on the Status of Women shall consider these communications together with the comments, if any, of the States Parties directly involved."
