LIMITED E/CN.4/1984/L.75 7 March 1984 Original: ENGLISH COMMISSION ON HUMAN RIGHTS Fortieth session Agenda item 13 QUESTION OF A CONVENTION ON THE RIGHTS OF THE CHILD Administrative and programme budget implications of the draft resolution contained in document E/CN.4/1984/L.68 Statement submitted by the Secretary-General in accordance with rule of the rules of procedure of the functional commissions of the Economic and Social Council 1. By operative paragraph 3 of the draft resolution contained in document E/CN.4/1984/L.68 the Commission would recommend a draft resolution to the Economic and Social Council in operative paragraph 1 of which the Council would authorize a one-week session of an open-anded working group prior to the forty-first session of the Commission on Human Rights to facilitate and speed up the completion of the work on a draft convention on the rights of the child. 2. The relevant conference servicing requirements in 1985 under section 29 B, Conference Services Division, Geneva are estimated on a full-cost basis at $59,300. GE.84-15787
