GENERAL E/CN.4/1989/29/Corr.l 3 March 1989 Original: ENGLISH COMMISSION ON HUMAN RIGHTS Forty-fifth session Agenda item 13 QUESTION OP A CONVENTION ON THE RIGHTS OF THE CHILD Convention on the Rights of the Child; text of the draft convention as adopted by the Working Group at second reading CORREGENDUM Article 40, paragraph 2 (b) (iii) should read as follows: "(iii) to have the matter determined without delay by a competent, independent and impartial authority or judicial body in a fair hearing according to law, in the Presence of legal or other appropriate assistance and, unless it is considered not to be in the best interest of the child, in particular, taking into account his or her age or situation, his or her parents or legal guardians."
