The Department of Public Information continues to publicize the objectives of the Decade and World Programme of Action through the provision of information materials, financed from within existing resources. The World Programme of Action has been reprinted in all official languages and distributed in over 60 countries. In addition, in response to a request from an expert participant in the Stockholm mid-Decade review, it has been distributed to disabled persons organizations in 35 African countries. The Department is producing a pamphlet containing declarations on the rights of disabled persons, in all official languages, in connection with the celebration of the fortieth anniversary of the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights. A film on the Decade is currently under production and is expected to be available for distribution early in 1989.
