Report of the Third Committee

1. At its 2nd plenary meeting, on 17 September 2004, the General Assembly, on
the recommendation of the General Committee, decided to include in the agenda of
its fifty-ninth session, under the item entitled âHuman rights questionsâ, the subitem
entitled âComprehensive implementation of and follow-up to the Vienna
Declaration and Programme of Actionâ and to allocate it to the Third Committee.
2. The Committee held a general discussion on the sub-item jointly with sub-item
105 (a) at its 23rd and 24th meetings, on 25 and 26 October 2004. An account of the
Committeeâs discussion is contained in the relevant summary records (A/C.3/59/SR.23
and 24).
3. No action was taken by the Third Committee under this sub-item.
