Note by the SecretaryGeneral
1. In its resolution 1996/27 of 19 April 1996, the Commission on Human
Rights requested the SecretaryGeneral
to make available to the Commission at
its fiftythird
session the latest report of the Special Rapporteur on
disability of the Commission for Social Development on his monitoring of the
Standard Rules on the Equalization of Opportunities for Persons with
Disabilities.
2. In pursuance of that request, the SecretaryGeneral
is transmitting to
the Commission on Human Rights his note A/52/56, to which is annexed the final
report of the Special Rapporteur of the Commission for Social Development on
monitoring the implementation of the Standard Rules on the Equalization of
Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities.
