regarding the desire of that Government to become a party to the Convention on Road Traffic, signed at Geneva on 19 September 1949,
Declares that the Principality of Monaco is eligible to accede to the afore-mentioned Convention on Road Traffic.
349 (XII). Draft International Covenant on Hu¬man Rights and measures of implementation: future work of the Commission on Human Rights
Resolution of 23 February 195118
The Economic and Social Council,
Taking note of General Assembly resolutions 421 (V) on the future work of the Commission on Human Rights and 422 (V) on the territorial application of the International Covenant on Human Rights, both adopted on 4 December 1950,
Considering the communications from the Interna¬tional Labour Organisation19 and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization20 con¬cerning co-operation between the Commission on Hu¬man Rights and the specialized agencies with regard to economic, social and cultural rights,
1. Transmits these resolutions to the Commission on Human Rights for appropriate action;
2. Invites the Commission to take into consideration in its work on the draft Covenant the records21 of the discussion at the twelfth session of the Council, the remarks or observations made by members of the Coun-cil and by representatives of specialized agencies, as well as the amendments22 to the draft Covenant pre-sented at that session;
3. Invites such of the specialized agencies as feel directly concerned with the proposed economic, social and cultural rights to send representatives to the seventh session of the Commission on Human Rights to partici¬pate in the work of the Commission relating to eco¬nomic, social and cultural rights;
4. Calls upon the Commission to take such steps as are necessary to obtain the fullest co-operation of the specialized agencies in the consideration of economic, social and cultural rights, and to consider for this pur-pose the setting up of one or more joint working groups, consisting of representatives of the Commission and of the interested specialized agencies, which will report to the Commission; and
5. Requests the Commission on Human Rights to pre¬pare and submit to the Council at its thirteenth session a revised draft Covenant on the lines indicated by the General Assembly, together with a report on the re¬sults of its work.

349 (XII). Projet de Pacte international relatif aux droits de l'homme et mesures de mise en oeuvre: travaux future de la Commission des droits de l'homme

Le Conseil economique et social,
Prenant acte des resolutions 421 (V) et 422 (V) adoptees le 4 decembre 1950 par l'Assemblee generale, la premiere ayant trait aux travaux futurs de la Com¬mission des droits de l'homme, la seconde a l'applica-tion a certains territoires du Pacte international relatif aux droits de l'homme,
Vu les communications adressees par l'Organisation internationale du Travail19 et par l'Organisation des Nations Unies pour l'education, la science et la cul¬ture20, relatives a la cooperation entre la Commission des droits de l'homme et les institutions specialisees en ce qui concerne les droits economiques, sociaux et culturels,
1. Transmet le texte de ces resolutions a la Commis¬sion des droits de l'homme pour qu'elle prenne les mesures qui conviennent;
2. Invite la Commission a s'inspirer, dans ses travaux sur le projet de pacte, du compte rendu des debats du Conseil au cours de sa douzieme session21, des obser¬vations et des commentaires formules par les membres du Conseil et par les representants des institutions spe¬cialisees, ainsi que des propositions d'amendements dont le projet de pacte a fait l'objet pendant cette ses¬sion22 ;
3. Invite les institutions specialisees qui estiment avoir un interet direct dans le domaine des droits Eco¬
nomiques, sociaux et culturels envisages a. envoyer a la septieme session de la Commission des droits de
l'homme, des representants charges de participer aux travaux de la Commission qui touchent aux droits eco-
nomiques, sociaux et culturels;
4. Demande a la Commission de prendre les mesures necessaires pour s'assurer une collaboration pleine et entiere de la part des institutions specialisees en ce qui concerne l'examen des droits economiques, sociaux et culturels, et d'envisager a cette fin la creation d'un ou de plusieurs groupes de travail composes de repre-sentants de la Commission et des institutions specialisees interessees, qui feront rapport a la Commission;
5. Prie la Commission des droits de l'homme de re-diger et de soumettre au Conseil, a sa treizieme session, un projet de pacte revise dans le sens indique par l'As¬semblee generate, ainsi qu'un rapport sur le resultat de ses travaux.
